What is a good camera for photos and videos? my limit is 500?

  • Ive been looking for a newer camera online, considering the camera ive had for three or four years now has only 5.1 mega pixel, crappy zoom, and very crappy sound when recording short videos. It was the samsung Digimax S 500. Im trying to find a camera that hyas very good quality in photos, great zoom, and i can take pictures of things and people moving, so it wont come out blurry. also cameras that will take good quality pictures in low light, or just about no light at all. Also, about the recording thing, id very much like this camera im going to be getting to be able to take good videos, with very good sound! the camera i have now stops recording sound when your zooming in or out while recording a video =( im not sure if you can get a camera that you can charge with a cord, and also put batteries in if you need to. but that would be awesome!! ive put some thought into a Canon S5 IS, but im not even sure aboput it yet, i kind of want the magepixels to be inbetween 10-12. but so far ive only found that the canon camera only comes with 8.0 megapixels. so if anyone can come up with any ideas please let me know. ill spend up to $375, if you have any ideas please please please let me know, thank you so much!!

    seriously. amazon.com has like the most rediculously cheap cameras! omg im getting one here in afew months for xmas, im going to get a 12.1 megapixel for the price that i have paid for a 7.1. and i have an olympus, and its pretty much amazing, i love it. btw. pick a color you want.

All of the major brands are good. Choose a brand that appeals to you. Then you have to think about getting a spare battery, what size memory card, if you want an extended warranty, how much you can afford, what size zoom, if you want manual controls, the size of the camera, finding a reliable place to purchase it, and the list goes on and on and on....... The first thing to realize is that almost any digital camera will take good pictures. If more people would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it could be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading on the internet. I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice. The person needs to read a lot of reviews on cameras so they can decide on the features that they really want and need. Go to the store and hold them so you can see if they feel comfortable in your hands. If possible, take some pictures in the store to check the quality of the pictures. I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera. I would suggest Canon PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP with great 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch Articulating LCD.It take great picture quality but like most point & shoot camera that have noise on high ISO or low light.It also take 720p HD movies with stereo sound.
