Help with computer pictures?

I'm having troubles getting pictures onto my computer from my camera. PLEASE HELP!?

  • I can't figure out what is wrong!!! Okay so normally whe you want to put pictures on your computer from your camera you just take your card and stick it in the slot and then a thing pops up and you just click upload and your set. Correct? Thats how it used to be for me too but now when I put the card in the slot it doesn't read it! (my camera is a Kodak Easyshare M1063, I think, atleast thats what it says on the bottom. And the card is a SanDisk 4gig. It says SD in the corner and under that is a HC) It's been doing this for a while so then we decided we'd try using the USB chord that came with the camera. I KNOW that since the computer started not reading the card we've uploaded pictures but now I can't get it to work! I plug in the chord and the litle light comes on my camera to indicate that it's charging. So then I open my pictures folder and on the side it says upload pictures from camera or scanner. So I click on that and then a message comes up that says please turn camera on, so I do that and then another message says that its scanning the camera or whatever. But then it says it can't do it because the camera is in use. So I turn it off and try again but then it says turn the camera on! I don't know what to do and I can't remember what we did last time! Please help! Also if it matters we have a Dell and the program is Windows XP. Thanks

    Pictures from cell phone or camera to computer (Memory Card) Remove the memory card from your phone or camera and insert it into the adapter that came with the memory card and insert it into the drive slot in your computer. Click start then My Pictures, create a new folder and name it. Click start then My Computer, double click the drive that has the memory card. Either copy and paste or drag and drop the pictures from the memory card to the folder you just created. --------------------------------------… Pictures using USB After you plug your USB cable into the computer and camera or phone, click start. Then My Pictures On the left side you will see a row of options click Make a New Folder and name it. Then double click on it to open it. Go to start and then My Computer, double click on the drive that has the camera or phone. It is usually the J drive. Now either drag and drop or copy and paste the pictures to the folder you just made. Good luck

All cameras have a usb setting. Go on the settings and check if you enabled to do file transfer with USB. so... 1) unplug it from the computer and change the settings 2) plug it in and see if it works (make sure you dont need a program to get your pictures trasfered) 3) if it doesnt.. then do this.. try checking if the SD is locked or not. every SD card has a lock and it cant be easily unlocked because its a manual switch. if that doesnt work, get a new slot reader, reason why your slot may not work is because all slots have a certain capacity that they go up to. The one you have probably goes up to 2GB. You have a 4GB and its a HC (high capacity) so it might not read it. You can simply take your SD card to the store and ask the technical support people at the store what would support your SD card.

Another thought would be a card reader. They're available where ever cameras are sold for little $$. Windows will see a reader as a drive so you simply copy / paste your files to the folder of your choice. No cable, no extra software, no hassle.
