Is this camera good Canon HV20?

Canon HV20 HELP! Video Camera?

• I have to settle an argument with a freind. i own a canon hv20, which is HD DV tapes (hdv tapes). He owns a hard drive video camera (its also hd, but i don't know what its called) He thinks that professionals use hard drive video cameras. That makes sense, i use to also think that too. cause its new technology, and it can hold more, and now, after talking to many people, (fry's employees, school film teacher, sister, mac genius people ) They all tell me that tapes are what professionals use. WHo is right? ME OR MY FRIEND?!?!?!?!?!? auugghhh hard drive or tapes. please get back to me as soon as possible. They had many reasons why, i understand why u would use tape

  It depends on the video camera. If you do a search on them you'll find the majority do still use tape, but there are HDD and even solid state drives. You'll probably see a mass movement to solid state (sata type solid state DDS) over the next year or so, due to their speed and robustness.
