I am planning to get my first Dslr Camera any suggestion which camera would be the best entry level dslr?

I'd get an older nikon d80, or d90. You can pick these up reasonably cheap since they are not the most current model. A serious photographer will tell you the lens is more important than the camera itself though...

What is a lot of money to you? A real dollar budget helps a lot. A lot of money to me is a $50,000 camera-not gonna happen, but a $5000 camera? Probably will buy one within the year... so a real budget is relative. Nikon's entry level cameras are the D3100 and D5100. Of the two my preference would be to see you go with the D5100 if at all possible. The video quality alone is enough reason, but if you'd like to compare the two you can at www.snapsort.com. Canon's entry levels currently are the XS and the T3. BIG preference goes to the T3. The T2i would be my camera of choice if you were to go with Canon. As for which to choose? It's really up to you. Canon fits me better, therefore I shoot canon. As for my best camera friend? She shoots Nikon and can't for the life of her use one of my cameras. It's all about what fits and works for you.

The Nikon D3100 is an excellent entry-level DSLR. I'm an amateur photographer and this camera meets my needs. I love the fact that it's small and light, with great quality images. If I were a serious photographer and had more money to spare, I would wait and check out the D7000, which appears to have phenomenal specs. I'm happy with my purchase and I highly recommend this camera.
