Why does my camera make a buzzing sound when i take a picture?

i bought a new casio exilim ex-s6 today and everytime i make take a picture it makes a buzzing sound for a second. the picture comes out fine and nothing seems to be wrong with it. But the buzzing sound seems strange...is something wrong with my camera?

It's most likely completely normal for your camera. It might be the Auto-focus system, or possibly the anti-shake feature, so, I wouldn't worry about it at this stage. edit...it does sound like your auto-focus system. Some camera brands are noisier than others, so I wouldn't worry about it. But, if you're still worried, you should take it back to where you bought it from and see what they think. Or even compare it with a demo model, etc.
