What is a good camera for photos and videos? my limit is 500?

What kind of digital camera should i get if....?

  • i want to record really good audio at concerts. and a camera that takes good photos too. i want a digital camera and the price range should be a max. of $500.00. when i mean concerts, i mean like warped tour, the devil wears prada, blessthefall, etc.. my camera right now records **** videos and i have a canon G11. please help me! <3

    Here's the thing... digital cameras aren't really meant for videos... sure, some of them have that feature, but they don't really do great jobs at it. You want good video, then get a video camera.

Having been a drummer on tour for a year let me tell you; You cannot get good audio in a crowd. If I give you a super pro $85,000 camcorder, stole it right out of the NBC guy's hands; in the crowd you will hear the people yelling next to you. Sound waves just won't get to your camera well enough to be recorded. Youtube anything to see what I mean. On stage everyone had their own mic and it all went back to the board and a team of no less than 7 guys had to contently move things. On stage I had to ask for an extra monitor because I couldn't hear everything well enough. If you want a chance at good audio get a good camcorder that takes pictures. Not a digicam with movie mode.

Get a video camera that takes pictures.

I would suggest Canon PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch Articulating LCD
