Whats a good GoPro Camera?

  • After deciding i want one for christmas was wondering which one i should get. If you could explain more about the Camera to me and how they work. I know the basic concept of them but i dont know everything i need to know about them. Also whats a good begginner camera for me? I want one that can mount my dog and my lacrosse helmet. Thank you.

    Hi there. The new GoPro Hero 2 cameras came out only a few weeks ago, so make sure you get one of those and not one of the original Hero cameras. As for which edition to get (Outdoor, Surf, Motorsport), they're all the same camera but come with different attachments included. For Lacrosse helmet you'll want the Outdoor edition which includes curved sticky mounts to attach to helmets. Not sure about how to attach to a dog, though I've seen people do it. Perhaps the vented helmet strap (http://www.ordercameras.com.au/products/GoPro-Vented-Helmet-Strap.html) might work? (strap around dog's neck like a collar). This also comes with the Outdoor edition, so overall I think the Hero 2 Outdoor edition would be best for you. Make sure you get an SD card too though, they don't come with one (class 6 or higher).

I have the original hd hero motorsport that I use on my car when I go autocrossing or doing canyon driving. It's pretty good but the new one has more features (hd hero 2) and sharper image. The only differance between surf edition, motorsport, outdoor are the mounts. It's pretty much a camera that you can record high defination video in different settings (1080p, 720p, etc) or set it where it takes a pictures every 5 sec or so. Be sure to get a large memory card because you will need it Also check out youtube videos on it. That's where I learn most of my gopro features.
