Can you take pictures with the flip camera?

What kind of pictures can I take with a waterproof camera?

I just got a waterproof camera and idk what to do with it, I just know that i can take an underwater camera...would me good for like a photo shoot? an outside pictures?? I'm not good with camera names but on my camera it says its OLYMPUS stylus tough 1.5m shockproof and 3m water proof, the options i have for taking pics are, cuisine, document, beach and snow, snapshot, pet, portrait,landscape, night scene, night and portrait together, sport, fireworks, candle, self portrait, sunset. So you guys know how people take a pic of an object and it only zooms in the object and the background is blurry? would my camera be able to do that??? PLEASE HELP!!
