Does all Fujifilm Finepix camera use the same USB cable?

  • My digital camera model is Fujifilm Finepix Z20fd. I think the USB cable for the camera is broken. Here's the situation: My camera is working perfectly...I can take pictures, view them, and etc. When I connect my camera with the USB cable to connect to my computer, the camera shows a gray screen saying that it is connecting to the USB cable. My computer would usually have a pop-up saying that it found a camera connected. However, now when I connect the camera and the USB cable, the camera shows that it is connected to an USB cable, but my computer does not have any pop-up. I checked "My Computer", and there is nothing for the camera. I'm thinking that the USB cable is broken? Please give me your opinions and what you think is wrong. Okay...back to the original question...does anyone know if all Fujifilm Finepix camera uses the same USB cable?

    yes they do use the same usb cords. at least in the last few years. but you might be better off getting a memory card reader. replacement cables can be more expensive and difficult to find unless you go to the fuji website. card readers are cheap and available almost everywhere.

probably all the same. usb cords break very easy never wrap them too tightly when finished. try this first If you have XP Home, Go to your control panel, Double Click the Scanners and Cameras folder to open Connect your camera and turn it on then Right-click on the Camera Icon Left Click on Properties Left Click on the "Events" Tab in the Camera Pop-Up Window There you can either set a program such as "Microsoft Scanners and Camera Wizard" or put a check in "Prompt for which program to run". Which will open that options menu you speak of. There are two other choices there that are pretty well self explanatory. Make sure you click on "Apply" and "OK"
