Nikon L110 or Nikon S8000?

Nikon Coolpix l110?????????????

  • I'm getting a camera for Christmas and I'm trying to really pick the best camera since I'm planing on keeping it for a long time. I own a Kodak digital camera which I'm tired of so I want something a little better but not crazy professional. The budget is less than $250. I been looking at the Nikon Coolpix l110 which looks pretty good to me but I'm not an expert in cameras and I don't want to make a mistake in getting this one when i would be getting something better for the same price. What I look in the camera is photo quality. I want it to look real life, I want the type of "photo shoot" photos from my camera :) Is this Nikon my best option? what are the cons and prons of it and is there another camera you think fits what i want? thanks!

I have the Nikon L110, and am very pleased with it. I was torn between Nikon and Fujifilm. The only thing I wish the L110 had was a view finder, but the bright 3' LCD screen helps. The 2 Fujifilm cameras that I looked at before buying the Nikon were, Fujifilm finepix s1800 and s2500. If you choose Fujifilm, get the s2500 since it can take full 1080P videos and has an HDMI output.

That is an excellent camera for what you want, by far Nikon is the best choice you can make. The only cons would be that it is a 12.0 megapixle, 14.0 would be better but still a good choice, I would go for it. Hope you get it for christmas, good luck and happy picture taking.

The Nikon L110 does not have a good review when compared to its competition. If you can get the Panasonic Lumix FZ35, it would be a great option. http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com/search/extended-zoom Lumix FZ35 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=lumiz+FZ35&N=0&InitialSearch=yes Look also at http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com/search/advanced http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com/search/low-cost?rel=sb

The L110 is Nikon's budget-friendly super zoom. Its competitors, like the Panasonic FZ35 or FZ40, Canon's SX30 and Fuji's HS10 are much more sophisticated and much more expensive. The FZ35 is the most inexpensive of the bunch and has very good image quality. Forget about the number of mega pixels, that really doesn't matter when 12 or 14 are your choices. However, note that the L110 has x15 zoom, whereas the FZ35 has x18 and the others have even more. The FZ35 is almost within your budget, so if you can get it, that would probably be your best option. Another direction to think about is a compact zoom - Canon's excellent sx210 is much smaller in size than all of the cameras mentioned above, but that doesn't mean a small zoom - it has a x14 zoom. As it's now down from $299 to $249 for the holidays, it could be another good choice. Bottom line, the L110 is ok, but not as great as some of the competition.
