How do I change my pop-ups settings?

How to change manual settings on the Canon Rebel T3i/600D in video mode?

  • Hi, I am new to HD-DSLR filming, but know that I need to change my ISO, Aperture and shutter speed settings for the best quality video. I can change the settings easily enough in full manual mode, but the problem is in the mode the movie button is actually only a toggle switch between the LCD and live view. How can I change these settings for full manual video? Thanks.

  • Answer:

First learn your terms. There is no such thing as dslr filming - film in a completely different media. dslr cameras record video, no film involved and no, the terms are not interchangeable. That's like calling a steering wheel a tire... incorrect. There are two manual settings in video. In the Rebel line, when recording video, everything except focus goes to full auto. With the t3i you do have manual exposure control. Refer to your owner's manual on how to activate it.
