How do I download video onto mac computer from canon camera?

  • The camera I have is the Canon PowerShot SX120IS. When I plug it in to the computer and turn it on it does not show up on the desktop like other cameras that Ive had do. I have been able to download pictures on iphoto, but I do not know how to download the video. When I go to imovie and click the "import from camera button it does not recognize that I have a camera plugged in. I can not download the software disc that came with the camera because I have a school computer and the program does not allow it. Are there any computer/camera experts out there that can help me out a bit?
