What camera should we get?

What kind of canon camera should I get?

• I love photography and want to consider taking classes for it. I have an eye for great shots and just love to capture the beauty around me. At the same time, I am no pro. I don't want a camera that costs thousands of dollars. But I really would love to get a camera that takes great, GREAT photos with clear and vivid images. I'd also like a camera with a lot of different settings so that I can capture the contrast of colors and the beauty around me. Canon is the brand I'd really like to get, I've heard a lot of great things about it, so that's the type I will go with, I just don't know which model to get... if i should get a slim camera that can just go anywhere with me, or if i should get one of those big ones that photographers use. I'm pretty clueless! And not too, too hard to please. I just want a really great quality camera that will get me WONDERFUL beginner photography pictures.

  Hey there ! Im tyra, and i take photography lessons. I recommend you buy the Canon EOS 1000D, its a real great camera for beginners, I used it and absoulutely loved it. And very easy to use. But if you dont like it that much, you can always go for the Nikon D40 or D60. They're just about the same as the Canon EOS 1000D but a tiny bit lighter. But canon had more selections of lenses so this would really help in the future, and the Canon EOS 1000D costs only for about 250$. which is quite cheap i might say. This one is awesome too, its the Canon PowerShot A1100 IS. Its a point and shoot camera, but has amazing qualities. And the price aint that bad. It has alot of ups to it, and i suggest you go to youtube and just watch reviews on this one. its magnificent for a beginner, if you want something compact. It really comes down to how you want the camera to be. If you wanna bring it everywhere you go and just grab it with you, i suggest you get the Powershot, but if you want to take real high quality pictures then you should go for the dslr. Also, you can just buy a simple Powershot first, and move on with dslr's whenever you think you're ready for one and be able to use it to the max in the future. dslr's are pricey and hard to maintain, the lens are expensive which may be the cause of higher price range.
