Is there anyway to fix a digital camera that has its screen broken?

How do I fix my camera LSD screen? Gutted that it's broken?

  • I dropped my camera a couple of days ago and soon after realised my LCD screen as been cracked - no outer damage, but 3/4 of the screen is now just white when I turn it on, it still takes pictures fine but obviously this is a hassle to use now. I'm really gutted, I had it for my birthday back in August and don't want to tell my parents it's broken as it was from them, and it's not the first electronic device I've ever broken. Is there any way I could fix it for myself, with minimum costs? I know I would probably have to buy a new LSD screen, but I can't seem to find any online from the UK, they all come from Hong Kong etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks x

    I doubt if you can buy a component like that cheaply, they'll be sold affordably in batches from the manufacturer only. Enquire from the manufacturer's agent how much it might cost to repair; but it may be cheaper to buy a new camera. Might your household insurance cover accidental damage?
