Why won't my Fujifilm Finepix Z70 Series Camera turn on?

Please help asap...i just bought a fujifilm finepix jx and it wont turn on?

  • i just bought this camera like a week ago and i have only used it a couple of times. i hooked the camera to the usb cord the inserted usb into computer so i could upload my pics. this is the very first time i have done this with this camera.(i have had a few other digital cameras so i do know what i am doing)after inserting usb i then turn on my camera so computer will prompt me to upload photos. the camera turned on i uploaded my photos and then after im done i unhook usb from camera end only. notice camera is off but tdont think about it. i then try to turn camera on and i get nothing. no lights lens does not pop out its just dead. i have tried plugging and unplugging usb from both com. and camera. i have taken battery from camera numerous times for different amounts of time and still nothing. no prongs look broke..i cant figure this out and it is really starting to upset me. please help

    When you upload pictures that way, it runs the battery down. Are you sure your battery is charged? If not, take your battery out and charge it, and then try it back in the camera. If that doesn't help, contact Fuji. Then buy a memory card reader to upload your pics. They can be found at most stores that sell cameras. You just plug it into a USB port on your computer. Then insert the card into the reader. That will eliminate the camera when uploading, and will save on the battery.

The batter might be in backwards. this happened to me with mine and i just had the battery in the wrong way :)

Did you try recharging the battery? They are not fully charged when bought and plugging the camera to the computer normally uses up the camera's battery. Try charging first and if that doesn't work, march back to the store with camera, box and everything that came inside it including the sales receipt and demand for a replacement.
