Can we use an ipod touch mic as an external mic for a camera?

Ok so I have the Kodak Zi8 handheld/pocketcam and the volume is VERY low with this and I wanted to know if I could just put an ipod touch mic into the jack. The camera does have a 3mm jack or whatever the ipod touch jack size is. Not sure but you could try it. If it doesn't work you can shoot the video and record audio in sync but indpendently and combine together

Possibly,but it might not be good. Try it. The camera jack is almost certainly 3.5mm, the mic may have a 2.5mm jack plug - the number of contacts may also vary.
