What are good quality Webcam and Cameras?

  • I'm looking to buy a Webcam and a Camera but i don't want to order it and then have it be crappy... I found a webcam at Walmart. Its the.. Gear Head Quick 8.0MP. If you have heard of that one is it good? I was just wondering if you could give me brands of cameras that are good and links to ones you like. Same with the webcam... Thanks:)

    Webcam, Logitech Pro 9000, or something in that series. About $70, but you can find them cheaper if you wait for sales. The Pro 9000 also has an excellent microphone. An 8MP webcam sounds like interpolated pixel count which means less than stellar images. For a camera, that really depends on what you want. Canon point & shoots are a good starting point.

Check out, Newegg.com and read customer reviews. They are written by real people like you and me not made up garbage. Also Amazon has pretty decent reviews for most items your looking to purchase.

I hope you do realize that the Gear Head 8.0MP doesn't actually have 8MP...it only has 2MP and uses interpolation (software) to increase the resolution of your still images. I also recommend Logitech as being a very good, quality brand. The real cheap models won't be as good or have as good features as the mid range to upper range ones though. For good quality webcam video, always make sure you plenty of light... For very good image quality (in a compact digital camera) I recommend...Canon.

Logitech 720p Webcam C510 is lightweight and clips easily to the top of a laptop screen. A protective cover is attached to the camera, and the rotating head allows you to simply spin it around so the lens faces into the cover. The cable can get a bit tangled when you're rotating the webcam during use, but turning it slowly -- and with some practice -- will prevent this from happening.
