What happens when your computer crashes?

Is it weird if this happens after my computer crashes?

  • My 2 year old laptop crashed for the first time a few hours ago, and before it crashed it was a little laggy and it overheated a lot. After my laptop finally turned on, I noticed that it is a lot less laggy and that it isn't nearly as hot.

Yeah that's normal. Whatever background process that caused it to overheat was not running after you resterted your machine, that's all. To prevent this from happening again: First, blast out your air vents using compressed air (you can buy them cheap at any electronics store). Second, make sure that you don't put your machine on a soft surface such as a bed, a pillow, or ironically enough your lap. The basic goal here is to not set it on anything that would block the air vents. Second, figure out what process it was that gunned your processor and made it get too hot. Since it took you by surprised it's most likely not something you knowingly installed, so get a good antivirus like MalWareBytes and scan your system for possible malware.

u can reboot it and use it again as usual.

Your laptop is probably overheating. Don't keep your laptop on a soft surface (pillow, etc) for too long. Keep it on the table, if it is still getting hot or making loud sounds, elevate it, or give it a while to cool down. Hope that helps.
