Best manual for the 1967 Mustang Fastback?

How much would it cost to restore a 1967 mustang fastback?

  • Im looking into restoring a 67 mustang fastback and making it look like the one of the movie Gone in 60 seconds. How much time and money would it take? and would it be easier to start from nothing and buy a brand new shell or buy an old mustang and repair it?

  • Answer:

Assuming the car you find is in ok shape, 15-20k+ for anything worth showing off, and I wouldn't waste time adding all that extra crap to make it look like a fake car from a remake. It just ruins the car and makes you look like a bit of poser. (since there's all ready a ton of fakes out there) You can get legit/licensed reproduction shells for mustang and other classic cars from companies like dynacorn, but then you're spending 15k+ straight off the bat w/ nothing to show for it besides the shell.

It will cost you a little fortune, make a list what you need to do check out the prices and add up everything. If you make a budget off this make your budget higher. Also to cut cost you can do some things yourself such the paint job this link will give you a guide http://www.repaintcar.com/how-much-to/ . Mustangs are classics your car will look great.

A decent project will cost the same as a shell and you will have lots more to begin with...then add $30k for the restoration..more for the shell

To have an Eleanor will cost from $50,000 to $125,000.
