How do i take care of a baby green tree frog?

  • I found it yesterday when it was about to die it was in a long pipe and he is jumping up and down trying to get out and I got him out and fed him a small spider and drank water. He is living in a big plastic container with lots of sticks to climb on,rocks,grass,and plants with a soda cap with water in it. He looks healthy but just need more tips to take care of him. And what does it mean if he turns dark green? Is it ok to hold him a lot?

make sure it always has a water source, they need to stay moist, but the ground should be solid, not all water, (fish tank gravel, thoroughly rinsed of any chemicals that might be on it from the factory, is the best flooring for amphibians. You do not want soil or mud). A ten gallon fish tank with a screen top will make a nice home. Put a little water dish in there so it can go for a swim as needed, but most of the time it will just sit in the corner or on a branch and not do much. They change shades to blend into their surrounding environment as best they can. Also as a reflection of their mood, but dont try to interpret that or worry about it. Some pet stores will carry live crickets for food, they are cheap. otherwise you'll have to go out and catch bugs all the time.
