Should I ask a girl that I like out?

I like this girl and I was wondering whether to ask her out or not.Should I ask or not to ask?

• I've had a crush on this girl, whose been at my school only this year. She is older then me by a couple of months, but I don't. I'm not very good at asking girls out and not sure whether I should ask her out because my friend likes her to and he told me recently he stopped liking her, but I'm not so sure. I'm nervous and scared like everyone who has been in this situation, but temptation seems to be over riding the nervousness. So should I ask? If so, should I ask through my space? or face 2 face?
