Why do some guys want girls to make the first move?

My opinion is that it's an ego thing. They don't want to humble themselves to be put out on a limb. They want the girl to come to them. They think of themselves as deserving. Totally dumb, really, but I've wanted that too. But hey, I don't know the guy. Good Luck! -CJ

Because girls don't always get rejected. Just like guys won't go up and ask girls to have sex, yet we'd be delighted if girls asked us.

im well confident in general, but when it's a girl i really like i get so nervous and i start to think im not right and they dont like me. dont nessessarily make the first move but make it very obvious and then hell know and come to you, minor things may set him away thinking you hate him so be very careful what you do around him in ways of effection towards him, dont show him too little

i think its because they just wanna make sure you are interested. i mean really, girls can be hard to predict sometimes, so he probably wants to make sure. plus. i read somewhere, not sure where, that they think it is sexy when a girl is confident enough to make the first move good luck :)

Yeah, sound like he likes you and also shy. I would say make the first move but it sound easier than done. When I like a girl I'll give her signals and such and even when it's two months in I would be still be nervous/shy to her. because they are too wimpy to do it their self. most guys appreciate it more if they have to work for you guys just appreciate things more when they work for it no matter what it is

go for it definitely. It may be surprising but a lot of guys are extremely shy when it comes to girls. Its a fear of being rejected, its a blow to their ego. I have a couple of close guy friends that tell me everything. I've asked them this question before.
