What is the health care debate?

Health care debate right or privilege?

  • Guess what, it is already a right! How so? I don't understand why there is even a debate over this. Anyone who is or knows a low income person knows they don't have pay for health care anyway. They simply go to the emergency room and don't have to pay for it. Tax payers pick up the bill and these people simply have their credit ruined for a few years for non payment. I know, I used to be one of them, then wised up and went back to school. I wonder if passing health care would really make the cost go down. After all, we are already paying for those who can't pay. Health care as it stands now is a right! If we could somehow make it affordable to lower income people then maybe the costs for everyone would go down. I am changing my initial stance and saying cover everyone and just maybe I won't keep seeing increased taxes to pay for those who can't pay now. I don't think it could get any worse! What do you think?

    A question of health or life and death should never be a privilege. Its the working poor that have the most problem. Not all employers offer health insurance. Self insurance is prohibitively high. There are far too many Americans who had good insurance policies until their employers went out of business. Going back to school, which may qualify a person for a better job (if such jobs are available) is only possible if you have the money and time to do it. Many families are missing one or the other. You have cases where private hospitals dump indigent patients at the door of county hospitals. Drugs and medical care out of the reach of millions. (Even if the number is 10,000,000 I don't want their blood on my conscience.)

I give up trying to debate facts with libs on this issue. They dont want to hear anything that gets in the way of their opinion. The only 2 issues that they bring up that I think are legit problems are people with pre existing conditions who cant get insurance and people who dont purchase insurance and go to the ER and thus make the rest of us pay As for the former, there are 10 million people who are chronically uninsured (obama's 46 million is misleading and he knows it) It would be much cheaper to pay for their insurance outright than to turn the whoe system on its head. Regarding the problem with people who dont purchase insurance, I think the govt plan to mandate everyone to purchase insurance is a soultion that will cause more problems than the initial problem itself. I would rather just pay for their ER visists than to install a system that will make us all worse off in the long run. I do believe there are working class people who fall through the cracks and I would be willing to help them but again, they fall into the 10 million chronically uninsured number above

20 million people with no money hitting the system.If anyone thinks we are broke now just think what this will cost down the line.There is a reason the bill taxes now and does not start for a least 4 years it's to dam expensive.And as a American I dislike the fact that I will be forced to buy something or go to jail that my friends is not what this great country is about.
