Unemployment benefits denied?
-
I was denied my benefits of two weeks back in april since i did not report my earnings, but for some reason they sent my money of 228 even though it clearly said i was denied. Now their making me pay it back, do you think i can protest or anything here since its their own fault for sending the money even though i was denied. Now their making me pay it back, but them knowing i was denied shouldnt of sent it.

Answer:
It is their error. However, if you paid them by accident, would you want your money back? think on it.

You can protest but will lose. Same if the IRS sent you a larger refund or a bank credited too much for a deposit, you could not keep it.
No. You were aware that you weren't entitled to benefits for that time period. You should not have spent the money. You are required to pay it back.
