DAMNED RIGHT I agree with you – if you pay no taxes then you should not have the right to vote. This includes college kids who do not work and who have no idea what makes the world turn around other than what their books tell them which is really much theoretical bullsh!t. I despise the fact that a college kid can vote for the person who shall make important decisions that shall impact my life. However there must be exceptions. A stay-at-home mother raising her kids shouldn’t be excluded from voting because she is occupied full-time with the nurturing of a human life. One shouldn’t be penalized for committing to such a responsibility. With that being said, there should be very few exceptions to the rule.

No, poverty is not an impediment to voting, nor should it be, there have been times that we have tried to get only landowners, or impose a poll tax so a particular group would be excluded, but this hasn't stood up in court. WIC is for women and infants and children, If you hate a man who can breastfeed, you are missing a chance to sleep through a three AM feeding.
