Can I change my name?

Can I change my name on my school records without legally changing it?

• Okay so my first name is Jessica and I know it's a pretty common name, but I'm actually starting to like it more now. Anyways, I left my local high school, half of sophomore year, to go into home schooling and at my old high school there was a girl named the exact same name, last name and all. So I plan on going back for senior year. (She's still be there, by the way) The thing is we both don't have middle names so they confuse us for everything. Classes, teachers, grades, attendance, etc. Plus we're in the same grade so when we graduate next year, they'll be calling our names back to back at graduation. It's truly so annoying to be completely honest. So is there anyway I can change my name on my school records without legally changing it in court? Like when I go back and enroll can I change my name and put Jessica as my middle name or can I add a middle name? Or do I just have to change it legally? Thank you!
