What is Edith Hamilton's explanation for differing views of the same gods?

Can officers working with the same criminal populations have differing views on victims?

  • Can officers working with the same criminal populations have differing views on victims?

  • Answer:

In due time, your officers stop caring. Example, my best friend used to be the biggest anti-racist in the world. He luckily landed a job at a police station in mid 2011 in Miami. He loved the job, and then he got stationed in some black infested part of Downtown Miami where the sun doesn't shine. The racial slurs that this man has adopted are hilarious and frightening at the same time. ~ When you work with a population, you adapt to them. You learn to be defensive if they are hostile towards you, and you learn to be supportive if they favor you. This same friend in my example gets along with Cubans. Why? Because he's around them often in Hialeah(Cuban part of Miami). And they're friendly and funny for the most part, though some of them are a bit annoying. But... overall, he doesn't perceive them as a threat, he only perceives them as loud, and in a way, he has grown to take on some of their customs. For example: he likes cuban coffee, a lot. He's tried to learn the cuban slang version of spanish too, because it helps him communicate more openly with the people.
