How to go about getting a new birth certificate without ID?

How do you get your birth certificate and social security card, along with the fastest way to get official ID?

  • I signed up for the SATs the other day and it said that official ID would be needed. With some research, I realized that I needed my birth certificate and social security card to get photo ID. My SATs are on June 4th. I asked my mom for those things, but they've been long lost. So, how would I go about getting my birth certificate and social security card? I was born in New York City, but now live in Pennsylvania. Also, once I get them, what would be the best way to get an ID? Thanks in advance. :D

  • Answer:

The county in which you were born will have the birth certificate . Call the county office and they will direct you to the right dept. It can be done via the mail . A small fee will be charged . After you have the certificate you can take that to any s.s. office and get a new card . With the certificate and the s.s. card you can get a state i d . Problem solved .
