What are the differences between Canadian and American universities?

Are American Universities easier?

  • Obviously America has some of the most prestigious universities in the world, I'm not talking about them. I mean in American Universities in general, or on average. I have never been to one myself, that is why I'm asking, but I have multiple (10+) friends who have studied there as well as other countries, some of whom are American, and they all say that University in the U.S. was a lot easier, that the assignments and testing were more easy, and grading was higher as a result. As for my own experience, I am going to law school soon, and after I wrote the LSAT (a law aptitude test) I began receiving offers from American universities I hadn't even applied to, that didn't even know my GPA. So I guess it's a two part question, are they easier, and if so why?

The law schools that send out promotional materials and scholarship offers before you've applied are generally on the less rigorous end of the spectrum, and they tend to be private institutions with much higher tuition than public law schools. If you have a terrible GPA or a serious criminal record you could still be rejected by a school that sent you an "offer" when you formally apply. It's hard to generalize about American universities because there's such a wide variety, but there aren't any easy legitimate law schools. I have a J.D.

No, they're typically not any easier, especially law schools. They will have gotten your LSAT scores, which is why they're contacting you. They're much more interested in those scores than they are in your GPA.

They're not "easier". Many American universities follow the Socratic method and tests "true" intelligence. A lot of Asian cultures stress Rote knowledge with is just a lot of memorization. This is the lowest type of intelligence and you notice that many aren't equipped to deal with the work environement after academia. American universities as a whole are more interactive, and helps you integrate into the REAL world when school's over.

Offers from law schools? Do you mean fee waivers or requests that you apply? Law schools send out those emails like spam and they don't mean that you'll get admitted, trust me.

Alot easier compared to what. Colleges world wide is changing, but for the worse. I am horrified wha I see from several thrid world countries, but now even our colleges ahs gotten bad.

Depends on the subject.

I see you can lie like an American politician. I'd say you have a future in politics.
