I'm missing the point here. Abraham L. founded the republican party and he emancipated slavery I'd call that pretty anti-racist. I'm still not sure what your trying to get at hear though. What are we supposed to respond to hear. You have different view points than us (liberals) we have ways of defending our view points as you do your and I assure you that simply calling the right wing a group of racists is not among them. If you would kindly give us an idea of what you would like to debate that would help answer your question better.

How about this: You stop caring what someone's political motivations are. Hiding behind the straw man of "liberalism" or "conservatism" in an argument is the saddest and basest of illogical arguments. Debate the virtues of the problem. Have an discussion, not an argument. Both "sides" have facets of the solution that are correct. One merely needs to look for a unification that works in an ideal way. Conservatives aren't evil, liberals aren't evil; both are just people. Nothing more, nothing less. People can be petty and stupid, but they can also be wonderful. Just calm down and realize that people are people, not two-dimensional figures.

Well if you have been called a racist hundreds of times it seems quite possible one of them was right. Just because you married a black woman doesn't decide how you act all the time. I am a liberal and have never been called a racist once. You have been called it hundreds of times. I still think one time out of hundreds is quite possibly right. Odds are against you. I think just by bringing this subject up makes you racist.

I'll answer your question with another question: How come when many conservatives are backed into a corner the only thing they can come up with is to call their opponent un-American? Here's the answer: both sides have stupid people incapable of intelligent debate. I'll tell you what I am so sick of from both sides, people who think all the others are either stupid, or evil.
