What is San Diego State University's population?

Could the 51st state be born from a part of California?

  • I read somethin' interesting in The Bakersfield Californian about a ex-state senator, Bill Maze, who wishes to splinter CA in two. He proposed that thirteen counties along the coast from San Francisco Co. to L.A. Co. 4m a new state - W. California or Outer CA or somethin'. Both such st8s would have the same population as San Diego & the O.C. would remain on the larger Golden State. Maze says this could benefit the farmers here in the Central Valley, including my home county of Kern. So far, nobody is taking the proposal seriously & Bill Maze is pretty much getting laughed @. Incidentally, I never lived in Maze's district when he was in office. I think the idea of 2 CA's is far-fetched & silly but I still find it interesting as I could use a good "51st state" story. So my question is, especially for any Californians in the Central Valley, do u find this idea interesting & would you even support Maze's proposal to hack off CA's Central Coast from the rest of the st8?

where is obamas 57 th state, that part of san fran......

Can't be done, US Constitution prohibits it

It's possible, but extremely unlikely. I think it's much more likely that either the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico will become a state first.

Technically there are 52 states(cuba and Washington dc) but you can add a state it is hard tho of has to go thru congress and 3/4 of the states have to agree
