What tricks can you do on a longboard?

Longboard tricks for begginers, what should I start off with?

• I got my helmet slide gloves and obviously a board I think I should switch out my slalom wheels for the rounded lips instead of square. They both are 78a pretty soft, so what slide should I learn for slowing me down instead of killing my shoes doing a foot break every time? And I cant afford to get harder wheels or any other kind! my board is 37 inches and is a burleigh board,you know the one with the cut outs to prevent wheel bite and it is not symmetrical/ which wheel should I use the Slalom 74mm 78a or the round lipped 70mm 78a for sliding?

  Your Sector 9 Burleigh is not even slalom board. It is a great slide board. The drop through makes it much easier to slide! 78a are a perfect duro to slide! You never need harder wheels to slide! Lower duro wheels give nice butter slides rather than icy slides. I learned to slide on square edged wheels and you can to! I would first learn how to do a pendy (toe side hand stand slide), then go on to learn colemans (heelside pendys). After you have those down you can start learning stand up 180s. Basically standies are just like colemans and pendys without hands. You will get the motion down over time. Watch youtube tutorials to learn those slides!
