How do you heal a pulled hamstring very quickly?

How to heal a pulled hamstring?

  • I pulled it 4 weeks ago during a dancing exam (the hamstring in my right leg), during which we done a lot of split jumps and kicks etc. It wasn't initially sore but it got sorer afterwards, and despite not stretching or doing any kicks since then it still hasn't healed. I still get sharp pains whenever i lean over onto my right leg, or try and lift it above waist height, or do any form of stretching involving that muscle. Is there anything I can do to speed up the recovery process as I need to get be able to dance again as soon as possible as we have an upcoming show next week. Thanks

A pull is a tear, so your problem is probably scar tissue in the muscle, which is restricting full range of motion. You need massage, and may be other types of therapy to get your full range of motion back. If you force stretches you are likely to teat the muscle again, especially if you are getting pain, when you stretch. Find a trainer or therapist to help you.
