How to make skateboard graphics?

  • I am starting a skateboard company i know how most things work i have a person to make blank decks for me but no graphics ): stencils are cool and all but i want real graphics..please tell me how i can get the hook up... please be a skater yourself or know about the business, and please don't tell me "put stickers at the bottom", "glue pictures on" etc.

    There are three ways graphics are put on decks. The most common is have them screen printed on the deck. There are now printers that can directly print on the board. They are very expensive; around $40,000. Local print shops may have one. Lastly, full-size vinyl decals. Fairly inexpensive and easy to get done. You have to be very careful when applying these as they can be fussy.

http://www.wholesaleskateboard.com/, deckpeck, boardpusher. There are a lot of sites with low start up costs and low minimums. Get a local skate mag and check the ads in the back, most of these shops will give you a good deal on house boards and save you money compared to ordering from a larger company. A lot of them are American Made as well. Most of the sites I listed will start you off with 100 deck minimums at about 18.00 a deck for one color. Every shop is different though. Be sure to check :)
