What are some easy gymnastics move?

Help with gymnastics move; giant?

  • i've just turned 14 and has done gymnastics since i was 5 / 6ish. I was quite good when i was younger and was elite for a bit but then moved to another club. They pushed you to do things you physically couldnt do and they made my mental strength suffer a bit. Then after a year, my family and i moved out and i joined a better gymnastics club. I was quite bad in my first 2 years (level 4 in uk, so about level 6 in usa i think) but over the last couple of years i've got alot better. I was on level 3, so about 7 or 8 in america but i've suddenly improved my apparatus...except bars. Im doing level 2 in a few months so level 8 or 9 i think, and my other pieces have always made up for my lower scores on bars. As i got worse in gymnastics they didnt teach me giants as i could never do them on strap bar but now i can do them easily on strap bar but im worried about the wooden bar. Im quite tall 5,3 (?) and (not fat) but heavier than the others and my hands are eqivulent to a 9 or 10 year olds. So when i swing down i have to do a massive regrip and just feel like im going to fall. i was learning them last year but got so scared i've backed out. Now i really really really want to do them but just cant! i have a coach supporting me but just feel scared! i used to do backaways / flyaways but once slipped off coming down and injured my neck and shoulder. i was just wondering have any of yous had a mental block over giants and could give me any tips? thank you loads and loads! :-) ♥ (and im not allowed to do level 3 again as my scores were too high)

  • Answer:

im not in gymnstics i do tumblig but i also have a mental block and it came from not trusting my coaches....they continued to drop me when i was trying to learn my backbend. so now i am afraid of backbends and all that stuff. i would suggest having a talk with your coach and telling her you someone to stand right by you and make sure you dont fall. mental bllocks are a pain to get over but i suggest talking to your coach and asking for help.
