What skateboard deck do you recommend?

I'm looking at buying a new skateboard, is a Skateboard store's own made deck good?

  • Hi there, any help is really appreciated!! I was looking at getting a new skateboard (since my old one broke). There is a specific skateboard store which sells it's OWN brand of skateboard deck (made for that store especially). I'm wondering, is a skateboard store's own brand of skateboard deck the same quality as other decks (like element, enjoi, plan b). If it's not the same quality then I'll just get a brand name. I'm just wanting to get the deck set up with name brand trucks and wheels. Here is the link for the deck https://surfparadise.com/store/skate/skateboards/completes/5564 It says the deck is that expensive because it's pre-built, but I'm going to put more expensive parts. THANKS!! :)

  • Answer:

That's rather expensive considering it's a generic shop complete. You can get higher quality components for cheaper at Tactics Boardshop, Active Rideshop, and Socal skateshop. Tactics and Active both have shop decks that are cheaper. Build completes on those sites. You can't tell how well the deck is if they just say " 7 ply, crosslaminated Canadian Maple". All standard skateboard decks are 7ply Canadian Maple.
