Should I get a bamboo longboard skateboard?

Im getting a santa cruz bamboo shark 9.7 cruiser skateboard. do these get speed wobble east?

  • So i used to skate but ive always sucked. recently i tried out a longboard and i fell ib love with them because you can pretty much go over anything and not fall like you would on a skateboard. One thing i do hate though is speed wobble. is this board prone to it or are they prettu sturdy? remember i suck so dont say anything about "if you know how to control it youll be good".

  • Answer:

DO NOT LISTEN TO SEAN!!! Tightening the trucks is the stupidest things to do. You will not be able to turn, which means you wont be able to avoid objects (cars, rocks, sticks, corners). Speed wobbles come from the individual, not the setup. As long as you have a stiff board with decent trucks, you will be fine. You can get barrel or eliminator bushings if you want to add stability. Stability comes from strong experienced ankles, and a good stance.

Its not about the board, its about the trucks. You need to borrow or buy a T-Tool to tighten the trucks VERY VERY tight and you should have not problem with speed wobbles, but it will be hard for your to turn. Another solution is to carve down the street by going to one side and then leaning to the other side. This will take a bit of practice but it will pay off later. Hope this helps :D
