Loosening skateboard kingpin?

my skateboard kingpin on my trucks is completely grinded down. i can't really get it off with a skate tool so what is something else i could use to loosen it? so i can put some new bushings in. thanks

Answer:
If it's the nut, not the kingpin, use channel lock or locking pliers to unscrew the nut. You may have to cut out the old bushings to get more room. You will have to get a new nut as well. If the kingpin is damaged, it may have to be re-threaded or replaced.
