What is school premises?

Would I get in trouble for using Nicotine products such as Gum, drink, etc on High School Premises?

  • Schools have a "No Tobacco Policy." From a technical standpoint, Nicotine is a constituent of the Tobacco plant, so I have a feeling there might be a loophole in the rule. Please give me an honest Non-Biased opinion on this. I go to High School by the way.

  • Answer:

I'd say no. And nicotine is not a controlled substance so it isn't illegal. When they say tobacco, they mean tobacco. That is cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco and dip/snuff. Gum is ok. But if you're chewing nicotine gum just to get around the rule, you're a goofball.
