Is there a Greek area in Philadelphia?

Why does the Philadelphia area look so much like part of Texas?

  • Here are some examples: 1. West Philadelphia looks like North Houston 2. South Philadelphia looks like Jersey Village/Windfern Houston 3. Boyertown PA looks like Tomball TX 4. Norristown PA looks like Southeast Houston 5. South Jersey in general looks like Texas 6. The PA "Main Line" looks just like rich parts of Houston (but I must admit New York as well as parts of LA/Hollywood too) 7. Newtown Square/Edgmont PA and parts of West Chester look a lot like The Woodlands/Cypress/Spring 8. Bloomsburg/Berwick/Mifflinville/Hazleton in general look like slightly more rural Texas 9. The area around Philadelphia International Airport looks just like the area surrounding Houston's Bush Airport 10. York/Gettysburg/Chambersburg in general has a Southern look/feel And why does the Philadelphia accent sound Southern (sort of New York too though)?

  • Answer:

probably a long time ago a bunch of texans, that laid out texas, moved to the state of phili and advised those their to follow the same layout :)
