Why are people so unmotivated about making money?

How many people actually care about making alot of money?

• It seems from where I am that most people do not care about making more money than they can just live on. More people seem to care about family, relationships, morals, etc. But for a career, only one that is enjoyable and comfortable is preferred. And I think mostly because people commonly know that alot of money does not bring happiness, therefore not important. But do people start caring about money after they live on their own and/or have a family to support? Because I'm in college so maybe that's why I think this. because I haven't met too many students who care about money too much. However, I am a teaching major, lol.

  People may seem to care more about other things because deep down we all know that money is not the most important thing to focus on. It is not what makes a life worthwhile.. HOWEVER, though a lot of money does not in itself bring happiness- having it frees a person up to be able to be happier, because they can then focus on the important things.Mostly because the less money you have, the less time you can devote to actually enjoying your life. I know I cared a lot less about money when I didn't have to devote as much of my life to earning it.
