What is the 'American dream'?
-
Throughout my life I have heard the term used countless times, and now, people are saying that the American dream no longer exists. But what IS the American dream? Or at least, what is it supposed to mean?

Answer:
The American dream is basically just the concept of owning your own property/picket fence home. It is the idea that if anyone works hard enough they can achieve whatever they want.

Well "American Dream" is the ambition that one person will be "someone" one day. That's the reason that Europeans before 400 yeas ago were leaving their countries. They wanted a better life, independence and money! America is a rich country and the old years people had "the gold fever" Now they want to make a fortune (the perfect house, job ect) and American perfect wife and general material stuff.
