What's the best small Southern town to live in?

Whats the best night life fun town north west of Tennessee to live for a young adult?

Im from Chicago Illinois right by the city so im use to going to clubs and bars downtown... but my roots ( my parents + grandparents) are from tennessee and i have to admit i LOVE the country. I love Tennessee and consider moving there in a couple years. I also still wana be close to the state of IL as much as i possibly can so i can go visit family + friends. Anything northwest of tennessee & about 7-9 hours from the city of Chicago would be great. I wana move to the country but i dont wana be bored lol Whats a good town that for nightlife and things to do? thank you.
