How To Create Face Off Photo?

Is it an "implied threat" to draw over a face on a photo or is that b.s.?

  • a few yrs ago someone obtained a photo of me and his friend over the internet. using the photoshop "paint" function, he "painted" over my face in the photo with beige or "skin" color, then in its place drew in a cartoon caricature of my face...so that instead of the photo bearing my face, it had a cartoon face, but everything else in the photo remaining the same as original. the caricature face exaggerated some of my more unflattering facial features, e.g. made my big nose look like a witch's nose and my eyes look crosseyed. i didnt think twice about such "defacing" and never did anything about it. but recently someone claimed that such a "defaced photo" is "threatening to one's life"...is this true? is there some kinda implied meaning or "gang code" for coloring over someone's face and drawing a cartoon face or smiley face in its place? the only thing i can think of is the horror movie The Ring, where any person under the curse of the video has his or her face showing up blurry in photos, and the person goes around "blacking out" peoples' faces in photos with black pen. other than the curse from The Ring, which isnt even real life, i cannot think of anything that deems such a picture to be a "threat"...mean and ridiculing, but not life threatening of course. lol. what do you think?

  • Answer:

i doubt he meant anything. you said it was a few years ago. you're still alive. i think it's just childish.
