How do i advertise to people in another state?

Why do people whine about how televisions are "bad" for their kids?

  • Televisions teach people many things. They tell people what is going on in the world. They inform people about the current state of the world. They entertain people in a healthy way. They show you what style is cool and what style is not so you dress like an idiot going outside. They advertise you new products that you don't even know about. Why don't you people who hate televisions grow some balls and stop being so scared about being "badly influenced" by television? Why can't they realize that without televisions they are just living under a rock? Side note: Did you notice that most people who hate televisions are ugly people who have low self-esteem and are afraid to look at pretty people on the screen? They also dress poorly too because they don't know what good fashion is and what is hip and cool.

  • Answer:

You had a decent question but you ruined with your shallow and superficial comment about ugly people.

I was going to comment on this until I saw the "balls" comment. I think that was uncalled for and it would have been nice not to use that term in your post. You need to stop judging other ppl by what they look like. Beauty is inside not out.

yeah there good things about tv, but also there a lot of junk and craze on tv. It confuses kids cause they want to act like the people on tv and they're misunderstood in the real world cause tv doesn't really show what really is going on in the real world.

Because those are the parents who are afraid to discipline their kids.

everything new is bad, example: comic books

I personally love my tv. However, I can see where people come from. It can be a distraction. Its content is fairly liberal for very conservative people. Its news is a for profit industry generally not to be trusted. In the end though, i think all the whining comes down to not being able to choose what you watch and what channels you get. You have to buy it all in a package. So you cant say, id like the news but no mtv please, and you are at the mercy of programmers who do not want to stray too far from the mainstream because they are all fighting for a tiny fraction of a percent of the viewership that is on the fence about which channels or shows they prefer. Notice that not nearly as many people whine about the content of books. Sure, people try to ban books and make fusses over them, but most just continue living their lives. BUT the difference is... while you are still at the mercy of publishers, you can read any book any time you want. All you have to do is go download it or buy it or rent it. Then, there is no one telling me that if I read this book i have to read this advertisement first. Advertisements are stupid, and again, competing for such a tiny part of the market its ridiculous. Most advertisements are NOT about new products, most are reminders of old products. On your side note, what I notice is that people without tvs are the ones who generally dont care about fashion, and arent draining their income on a wardrobe that has to be replaced every season.

they feel like they are judges

because they want to shift the blame to someone else. instead of actually parenting and monitoring what your kids watch, they just want to say it is the television's fault.
