What is Edith Hamilton's explanation for differing views of the same gods?

Need an idea for original phenomena explanation story using gods/goddesses. Suggestions?

  • I need to write a paper in which I create my own story like one from Greek mythology which I am studying in english. I am wanting to write one explaining how we have snow but I need some ideas. Where does it come from, what is it really? Perhaps even some suggestions for names of gods/goddesses in the story. (I must create my own gods/goddesses as well). Be creative! :) Thanks! - Brooke

    Can you use actual Gods as reasons for the original story, or does it all need to be original. For it all to be original would be very difficult, as in mythology stories already have substantial background from the characters involved and their stories. If you want to do snow it's logical that Zeus would be the creator of it. Possibly as some sort of punishment when he's in a mood or something. Another idea would be that Hera (divine realm - marriage), makes it snow whenever a God, or blessed being gets married or has sex within that marriage. The white of the snow would symbolise purity (as a wedding dress) and would also justify the confetti tradition. Just a thought off the top of my head.

You could actually tell a story about how the snow goddess was born, how she chose the ability, and what happened in the process. To find out the goddess' name look in the index of The Lost Hero. Or you could make up your own name for him/her.
