How many years does it take to become a doctor?
-
is my understanding correct? 4 years bachelor degree 4 years medical undergraduate school, 2 year practicum and 2 year residency so total 12 years to get a doctors liscence? is that correct? and i heard you get paid during your 2 year practicum what is residency? i heard thats when you work full time as a doctor in the hospital for 2 years before you get a doctors liscence to practice privately so does that mean i get the medical degree before i go for residency?

Answer:
It usually goes like this: -4 years bachelor's degree (in whatever you want, you just have to meet the requirements of the school, usually 1 yr bio, 1 yr gen chem, 1 yr o-chem, 1 yr, physics, 1 yr social sciences, some math, and some writing/speech) -4 years medical school -3-7 years residency (depends on if you specialize) -3+ if you sub-specialize
