When do we apply to nursing programs?

Confused about nursing programs?

  • I have decided that I want to go to school become an RN, but I'm confused. Is nursing school in a four year degree/program or do you go after? Is nursing school hard to get in to, and if so what grades should I be making? Is ECU or NC State a good school to go to for this, and do they have nursing programs? What's the best schools to go to for this? Thank you so much!

  • Answer:

You go to a school of nursing and that is where you get your degree--so if you went for the bachelors (BSRN) it would be 4 years, and you graduate with a nursing degree, take the NCLEX and become a RN. All states have nursing schools and yes, there can be several years wait to get into one. Most people have a 3.0+ GPA. You will have to check all the schools you are interested in web sites to see if they have a school of nursing. It is not necc to go to the best one as passage of the NCLEX is all that is required. You do what to go to an accredited one with a good pass rate.
