Which of the following refers to a static muscle contraction?

The following statements describe similarities between cardiac muscle and single unit smooth muscle.?

  • A)The force of contraction is directly proportional to initial length of muscle fibre. B)Muscle contraction is controlled by autonomic nerve. C)Increase in calcium ion concentration in ECF increase strength of contraction D)Summation of muscle contraction occur due to increase stimuli. Based on my understanding,A)is false because smooth muscle contaction does not depends on initial fibre length, B)true. C)Smooth muscle contraction involved lots of calcium ion from sarcoplasmic reticulum(SR) but few from ECF while for cardiac muscle its similar to skeletal muscle where most Calcium ion comes from SR.False?? Hunny, I'm sure all of your answers are correct. Not very confident about C though. haha about D, i think you're right. Its because action potentials come closely one after another, with less time interval. So the muscle remains contracted.
