well first you need a bachelors so that is 4. then med school is another 4. then residency which is like 2.so in all 10 years. i want to be a forensic psychiatrist and it will take me 12 because i am specializing.

About 15 years, since you have pre-med (4 years), med school (4 years), then general residency (3 years) and specialty residency (up to 7 years, depending on specialty).
